Usability Problems

I bought this to play chess against my dad, but it is so unwieldy that we havent been able to play a single game.

Primarily, the problem is that the board disappears after every move and is supplanted by the active game against the computer. Then, its like pulling teeth to get back to the game to study it for the next move. I really wish there was a brain dead simple mode for this, because Id probably play it all the time.
