Perfect?
Be aware that I have never played chess in my life until a month ago. After my first game I was hooked so I bought this program after reading the reviews.
As a beginner, I find this game to be perfect. What really keeps me playing is the rated games. Starting low and then trying to improve your rating is great.
This game has way too many options for me (beginner). I probably could have gotten by with the lite version. Importing game files etc is all just beyond me, but I could see it being something I can grow into down the road.
Graphics are clean. Sound is simple, nothing distracting. Because the game can show you the valid moves, it has interested my daughter who is almost six. I let her play when she wants, and she is slowly learning the moves of each piece because of this feature.
The only problem I have is that when I click out to my home screen, and then try to go back into it, I get a magnified screen that only shows about half of the chess board. I have to kill the program from the iPad multitasking bar, and then relaunch it. Ive seen other people mention this issue too. Minor annoyance.
I give this four stars, and once it has no more issues minimizing and ripening I will give it five.
